AutoSettle is designed to protect Buyers and Sellers from online fraud—but staying informed is just as important. Here are some common scams to watch for when buying or selling a vehicle online:
If someone asks you to pay a deposit or complete the transaction outside of AutoSettle, that’s a major red flag.
Scammers may try to send counterfeit payment receipts or claim to have transferred funds that never arrived.
AutoSettle never asks you to accept a screenshot as proof of payment.
Don't accept any requests to accept payments outside of AutoSettle.
Only trust payments confirmed through the platform.
A Buyer might offer to pay “extra” manually (and outside of the AutoSettle platform) and then ask you to refund the difference - only for the original payment to bounce.
A Buyer might claim to use a third-party “agent” or shipping company and ask you to send money for delivery costs.
You may receive links to fake websites or login pages that look like AutoSettle.
Never click unfamiliar links.
AutoSettle will never ask for your login details via email or text.
