What is a Stolen Vehicle?
A stolen vehicle is one that has been reported as stolen and recorded on official registers such as PPSR and NEVDIS.
Even if a vehicle appears genuine, unresolved theft records can create serious legal and financial risks for both buyers and sellers.
Often, vehicles that have been stolen and recovered will present with parts that are non-matching and also parts stolen from other vehicles.
AutoSettle automatically checks for this to help prevent those risks and doesn't allow recorded stolen vehicles to be processed.
Why can’t AutoSettle accept these vehicles?
AutoSettle exists to help people buy and sell vehicles safely and with confidence.
Vehicles that are recorded as stolen:
- Can’t be reliably verified
- May pose safety or legal risks
- Can cause financial harm to buyers and sellers
By excluding them, we help ensure every transaction on AutoSettle is fair, secure, and trustworthy.
